He was full of ideal and tried to abolish the stagnation in both economy and society in Soviet.

He believed in the ideal in Soviet, and if making progress of democratic reform, Soviet would be a better society, he thought like that.

He made three plans, They were perestroika, glasnost, and a diplomacy of new thought.

[Perestroika was a password]

Gorbachev needed glasnost so as to make progress perestroika. Glasnost meaning opening information in the Russian.
