The history on residence of the human being in the place dates back to ten thousand years ago,and the trace to support its theory is recognized in a cave near Albuquerque. Varied Native Indians seemed to live there,especially Pueblo,Navaho,and Apache who was good at fighting are famous. A settlement for the Native Indians have still been established each place in the state at present.

It is said the language of Navaho Indian is extremely hard to understand. At the time of the Cold War,America made use of the language of Navaho for a cipher code 暗号通信,it seemed to be effective without being deciphering.
