I went to the bookstore to buy a dictionary.

私は、辞書を買うために本屋に行きました。

Tom studied hard to pass the exam.

トムは試験に受かるために、一生懸命勉強しました。

I'll go to the airport to see off my friend.

私は友達を見送りに空港に行きます

To buy a dictionary.The all three infitives in the examples express their purposes.

辞書を買う為に。例文の三つの不定詞は、全てその目的を表してます。
