In short,the tripolar vacuum tube also has action of amplification like the transistor.😃

The vacuum tube originally used to be adopted for an electric appliance such as TV,radio,and equipment for communication like diode and transistor.🙋

However,the vacuum tube has some faults.It spends a lot of electric power.Moreover it's easily influenced with a condition of the heater so much that it's very unstable electrically.😥

Therefore,when the diode or transistor have appeared,the vacuum tube gradually disappeared.👋
