The temporary houses are equivalent to shrines. Maidens in the service of the shrines performed ceremonies in which they prayed for their gods for a week.Castle walls were built as if they had surrounded the rocky mountain,and gates of which shapes were arches were also constructed,so the new gusukus were born.😃

In short,the Chinen gusuku didn't used to be the castle for battles,but an institution for playing for their own gods.☝

While shyrijo is a typical type of the castle,it's not an exception.There is a tremendous religious space at the southwestern zone in the ruins of the shyrijo.Plenty of scholars think it's an origin of the shyrijo.😺

The professor says the gusuku is a sacred place surrounded with the stone fences.Their religious motivation made the people build the stone walls surrounding the gusuku.Before long,political and military castle walls were constructed as if they had enveloped the holy place with a big scale.😚
